Biotech act II

Biotechnology can accelerate the development of advanced bio-based materials, chemicals and industrial processes. Europe has a strong scientific foundation and abundant renewable resources, but innovation must be scaled up and commercialised more effectively. The EU should create conditions that enable biomanufacturing and bio-based, renewable products to move efficiently from research to market and contribute to the replacement of fossil-based materials.

FFIF key message:
The EU should create a competitive framework that enables biomanufacturing and bio-based, renewable products to move efficiently from research to market.
